With gasoline engine, there are two versions, one of 224 hp ("RS 2.0T 16v) and a 230 hp (2.0T 16v F1 Team R26). The diesel version has a 173 hp engine power (though the trade name is 175).

The Renault Megane Sport 2.0 16v dCi 175 hp is available for purchase between 26,650 and 29,560 €. It is about 750 € more expensive than the gasoline version from 224 hp. The F1 Team R26 is the most expensive of all and is on sale (body only with three doors) for 30,200 €.

The least expensive version of the Renault Megane Sport dCi 175 hp 2.0 16v RS is cheaper than a Volkswagen Golf GT TDI 170 hp and more expensive than a Toyota Auris 3p D-4D 180 Sport.

The two versions of the Renault Megane Sport Diesel engine with 175 hp and 224 hp gasoline are available in combination with a body of three doors or five doors. The three-door sold in two levels of equipment "Access" and "Sport"; the five-door with a single level of equipment "RS").

With motor of 173 hp or 224, both versions have the same kind of suspension (which is different from the rest of the Megane range), brakes and tires only differ in the adjustment of certain elements elastic (stabilizer bars, springs and dampers), in the development of management and control of stability. These differences are due to the distribution of weight on wheels is not the same in both cases (in Diesel lies more weight over the front wheels).

Alternatively, both the Diesel 175 hp and 224 hp for the gasoline may have an option other than an adjustment of the chassis ('Cup Chassis'). This option includes the ability to switch off the stability control at any speed and some springs and shock absorbers harder.
